Biography
In the year 1994 Voluspaa saw the day of light.
Freddy Skogstad wanted to create a band that mixed black metal with some form of viking metal. He teamed up with his good friend Thomas Støen to created Voluspaa's form for
norwegian metal.
Late winter in the year 94, they recorded a demo called Volvenes spådom. And on this demo Per Erik Holt and Jarle "Uruz" Byberg played bass and drums. This demo has 4 powerful songs with viking & black
metal feeling.
After a year of being on the road and writing new songs, Voluspaa went too the church in Hønefoss, to record a new demo by the name of T.Å.E.M.E.N. On this demo there are a more old school black metal sound with some
Viking influence hanging over it. On this one, Sub played the drums, Thomas and Freddy
played the guitar's
Awhile after T.Å.E.M.E.N. was released, Voluspaa was laid on ice. Freddy continued making songs but does not
publish anything.
After several of years of selling the demo’s and good feedbacks, Freddy started Voluspaa up again as a one-man-band. The music is still the same
but with even more Viking & National romantic feeling than before.
In late of 2005, Voluspaa decides to sign a deal with Sonicdeath Armageddon. They publish the MCD T.Å.E.M.E.N. in 500 hand-numbered limited digipack editions, early of 2006.
In 2007 Voluspaa released a promotional cd called En Tid TilBake. This cd is an cd-r and has 6 songs from extreme black metal, viking to acoustic folk music.
In 2008 Voluspaa released once again a promotional cd called Norwegian metal. This one has the same atmosphere as
En tid tilbake, and some of the song's from En tid tilbake, but they are remixed and with female vocal's.
Voluspaa has raised themselves out of the ashes of the burning Norwegian churches and are ready to fight and defend the Norwegian country...
